Yaquina Head Lighthouse

This is the tallest lighthouse in Oregon (93 feet) and stands on the basalt headland at Yaquina Head. First lit in 1873, it still operates and is a striking blend of natural scenery and historical architecture. When you visit: there’s an interpretive center with exhibits, and you can walk the trails around the headland that offer dramatic views of the Pacific, seabirds, and tide-pools. Note: check current tour availability if you plan to climb the lighthouse.

Newport Historic Bayfront

This lively waterfront area gives you the feel of a working coastal town commercial fishing boats, sea lions lounging near the docks, souvenir shops, chowder houses, and galleries.
